Save the Date for Wild Things: A Conference for People and Nature – the Chicago Region’s biannual nature-focused conference, to be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at University of Illinois in Chicago.
Wild Things is a convergence of academics, practitioners, and enthusiasts with opportunities to learn about a broad range of ecologically-themed topics through poster sessions, speed talks, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. The keynote speaker will be Bill Kleiman from The Nature Conservancy on “How the Bison Came Back – Stewards and Scientists restore human and natural communities at Nachusa Grasslands”. There will be presentations on a variety of tracks including: advocacy, climate change, arts and culture, natural history of Chicago, Backyards and Neighborhoods, volunteer stewardship and community engagement; birds; tools for educators; ecological land management and research, aquatic ecosystems.
