Lake Forest Open Lands job opening

Director of Land Stewardship

This full-time position is based in Lake Forest and reports to the President. The Land Stewardship Director will oversee and lead all aspects of the organization’s land stewardship activities.

This position requires an individual with strong situational judgement, risk assessment, creativity and the diplomatic communications skills to effectively address the variety of challenges and opportunities that arise amidst the schedule and routine of activities associated with our land stewardship program.

IDNR needs biologists

Five district natural heritage biologist openings, deadline October 31

If you are passionate about conserving Illinois’s native plants, animals, and natural communities and want to work with an innovative and supportive team, then consider these positions with the Division of Natural Heritage.

We work with other divisions within the Office of Resource Conservation to provide natural resource protection and management to natural communities and rare and sensitive fish and wildlife and their habitats. We work collaboratively with the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission and the Illinois Endangered Species Protection Board to protect remnants of Illinois’s original natural heritage.

District Natural Heritage Biologists are responsible for the implementation, management, and administration of the Natural Heritage programs in a geographic area. For more details about the positions, please review the job responsibilities included in thefollowing postings.

Illinois Audubon Land Steward Position

Lead Audubon’s Stewardship program

The search is on to hire a new Land Steward at Illinois Audubon Society. Located in Springfield, the position splits time between the office and the field. The Land Steward will lead the day-to-day land mangement and stewardship functions of the organization, overseeing select contractors, volunteers, interns, and seasonal employees as assigned.
