2025 Annual Appeal

We’re celebrating 20 years of uniting and strengthening Illinois’s land and water conservation community!

What began as a small group of conservation land trusts has grown into a vibrant coalition of more than 50 conservation land trusts, watershed groups, wildlife refuges, forest preserves, and other conservation organizations and agencies working together to protect Illinois’ natural heritage while connecting people to nature.

In 2024, the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation closed their doors and awarded PSCC a $47 million grant to establish a natural areas grant program now called the Prairie State Conservation Fund (PSCF.)  A transformative re-granting program, the PSCF will help organizations build capacity and acquire, protect and restore natural habitats and wildlife areas across the state for generations to come.

While this new fund supports land acquisition and habitat protection, it does not sustain PSCC’s ongoing work to connect, empower, and advocate for Illinois’ conservation community. Your gift helps keep that work strong—building the partnerships, programs, and leadership that make statewide conservation possible.

We invite you to celebrate this milestone year by making a gift to PSCC’s first ever year-end giving campaign!

As we look to the future, your gift will help PSCC build on this momentum—expanding support for local land trusts, strengthening statewide conservation leadership, building partnerships, advocating for sound public policy, and training conservation partners in best practices through our annual and regional conferences. Together, we can ensure that every conservation organization in Illinois has the tools and resources to thrive.
