PSCC President recognized as a Force of Nature

President Brook McDonald honored by The Chicago Wilderness Alliance

PSCC President Brook McDonald, president and CEO of The Conservation Foundation (TCF), was among the 31 individuals honored by The Chicago Wilderness Alliance with their 2025 Force of Nature Awards.

“While I’m certainly honored to receive this recognition, we all know that success comes from teamwork and I am so blessed to have amazing people around me at The Conservation Foundation,” Brook said. “This is our collective success.”

The George B. Rabb Force of Nature Awards are awarded every two years and are named after the late, longtime director of the Chicago Zoological Society and Brookfield Zoo.

Brook was chosen because of his leadership in making TCF what it is today with its nationally recognized watershed work, education programs, Conservation@Home program involving communities in planting native landscaping, and an organic farm serving five food pantries and members of the community.

While at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, Brook led a campaign that successfully won $75 million for  open space, and TCF has successfully managed 16 similar open space campaigns garnering more than $1 billion for ecological restoration, preserving more than 50,000 acres of additional public lands to Northeastern Illinois.
