Moving from Strategy to Implementation: Revising Illinois’ Wildlife Action Plan

A One-Hour Webinar

April 22, 2013

10:00-11:00am

Come join us and discover how Illinois’ Wildlife Action Plan will be revised and how you can participate in making the revised document more applicable to land conservation. In this webinar, we'll discuss:

  • Current implementation approach to Illinois’ Wildlife Action Plan
  • Structure and focus of each Campaign
  • Timeline for revising Illinois’ Plan
  • Opportunities to move the Plan from strategy to implementation
  • Overarching concepts to support funding outside of “priority” areas
  • Mapping of protected lands

Our presenter will be stream ecologist and acting Watershed Protection Section Head Ann Holtrop. This one-hour webinar is appropriate for all levels of knowledge and would be useful for board members, executive directors and anyone responsible for using Illinois’ Wildlife Action Plan for land conservation.

Ann Marie Holtrop
is a stream ecologist with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and conducted aquatic research with the Illinois Natural History Survey for eight years prior to joining IDNR in 2006. Her background includes research on land use impacts on stream biotic integrity, developing multi-metric indices, assessing effectiveness of field sampling methods, and developing water quality standards. She currently serves as the Head of IDNR’s Watershed Protection Section, which is the group responsible for implementing and revising Illinois’ Wildlife Action Plan. She is the IDNR Lead on implementing IWAP’s Streams Campaign, and is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of the American Fisheries Society.
